Unfortunately things in Vancouver fell apart, in the sense that my apartment became irreparabhttp://www.jennamackmusic.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.phply bed bug infested, my health went to hell and my lovely friend who helped me put together this website along with videos recordings and all kinds of other help I’ll always be grateful for became far too busy with stuff he needed to get done for himself to have time work on the album. I’ve taken this opportunity to live out my dream of moving to a far off land with no plan… So in search of more humidity in hopes of healing my voice, greener and less bed bug filled pastures (yes, giant cockroaches sounded better) I bought a plane ticket and have moved to Panama. There’s no comparable winter, the rain is warm, the fish are rainbows and coconuts grow on the trees. There are definitely challenges but it feels good to be on an adventure.

10 AprI haven’t updated in a while… A bit unorganized. Unfortunately the bit about the squirrel in my last post is never going to make sense as the related squirrel part of the video had to get cancelled, but we did shoot some video that will eventually get edited and put up here, I swear.

We put together a 9 track demo of songs off the abum! It can be purchased for 10 dollars and to any one who may be interested leave your email in a comment on this post and I will get in touch with you.
I have to admit, it’s the first demo I’ve had available that isn’t on cds I burned on my laptop and drew pictures on with sharpies… So I’m pretty stoked.

Sometimes life is so much fun. Also so this post isn’t too boring, here’s a picture of a JUNGLE CRAB. Yea, it’s a crab that lives in the JUNGLE! I took it in Costa Rica. Maybe other people don’t find crustaceans as interesting as I do, but the idea of tiny, adorable, brightly colored crabs running about the in jungle folliage brings me great joy and I dare hope you some as well.

Wearing short skirts in the winter and standing very still isn’t practical or a good idea but I did it anyways.
16 JanLast week I went out my friend Reilly (AKA Jerk With A Camera) and we spent the afternoon shooting in a variety of locations. I grew up being completely adversed to having my photo taken and actually threatening physical harm to those who might dare try to take it.. It’s nice to feel like in some departments I have made some progress. Not even once did Reilly have to fear that I might punch him in the face!
It was incredibly cold but also really awesome good times.

Open Mic times…
11 JanHere is a quick video shot by jerk with a camera at last night’s open mic at Corduroy in kitslano.
Highlights of the evening: An older gentleman who sang with a voice like quality Bourbon. I asked him to be my honorary grampa and he said yes! Sweet, new grampa! Also that shawl I’m wearing I’m super excited about. It’s likely from the sixties, yellowed like it has a story and has TASSLES that jostle joyfully when I jump about! And boy, do I ever jump about.
